Animal Photo Booth Raises Money For Shelter

Thanksgiving is just a week away, and after that Christmas will be here before you know it. Kids everywhere love getting their picture taken with Santa and putting in their Christmas wish requests, but this year, at the Valley Animal Center in Fresno, California, animals got their chance to sit on Santa’s lap too. The animal shelter designed a homemade photo booth for their annual holiday bake sale and let pet lovers bring in their pets for a family photo with the big man himself. The event, appropriately dubbed “Santa Paws” raised money for the shelter, which is “central San Joaquin Valley’s largest no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.” Dogs, cats, and humans, were the most commonly photographed subjects, though Santa is also seen holding a rabbit in the photo spread. Father and Son Team Up for VW Van Photo Booth Project

What do you get when combine a classic Volkswagen van, and a photo booth? A very cool idea! Or at least, that’s what this father and son team in Texas are hoping to do. William Nicol was inspired by his son’s love of photo booths and old VW vans to turn a van restoration project into a mobile photo booth project. While you might have thought of these vans as relics of the ’60s and ’70s, Volkswagen actually continues to produce them through a licensing agreement in Brazil. However, new safety regulations that go into effect next year will prohibit production of vehicles with a cab forward design, meaning production will cease in 2014. You won’t be seeing too many more of these classic old vans, but if Nicol gets his project running, you could see one with a photo booth in it. Check it out here.

Elementary School Uses Photo Booth as a Reward for Students

Perhaps more than anyone, kids love getting their picture taken. There’s no more genuine of a smile than that of a kid posing for a picture. With this in mind, Sorgho Elementary School in Owensboro, Kentucky, set up a homemade photo booth in the science and art rooms as a reward for kids who reached their Wildly Important Goals. Students set two goals, one personal, and one academic, every nine weeks. Teachers and faculty work to help students achieve their goals. South Dakotans Use Photo Booth to Help Snowstorm Victims

A freak early-season snowstorm hit western South Dakota earlier this month, and residents there are now trying to rebuild after the devastating storm. The agricultural industry was hit particularly hard, with crops destroyed, land reduced to mud, and thousands of cattle dead as a result of the storm.

 

Recovery efforts have brought help from across the state, including from the eastern city Sioux Falls, which is the largest city in South Dakota. The community service group Sioux Falls Jaycees is hosting a haunted house which features a photo booth that lets friends and family get their picture taken with resident haunted house monsters. The group is accepting donations for photos, and all of the proceeds are going to recovery efforts.
