There isn’t a ton of literature on the subject of photo booths, and it might be safe to say that there isn’t a non-fiction graphic novel that focuses exclusively on photo booths. Which makes it likely that Canadian artist Meags Fitzgerald’s upcoming book “Photobooth: A Biography,” which is due out in May of this year, will be the first.

Fitgerald chronicles the rise and fall of vintage chemical photobooths, from the inception of the modern-day photo booth in 1925 to preservation efforts taking place today. She does so through the medium of a graphic novel, which features an engaging layout of handwritten text and ink drawings that fill the pages.
